Abstract
Special Education has always been an area of education that has placed
special emphasis on equipping students with resources that would enable them to have a more advantageous grounding in the academic realm.
However, in more recent years, there has been a growing interest in the issues of safety. The goal of this action research was to look at the different ways in which safety in public schools with regards to special education has been dealt with and look at ways in which game based education could be used to deal with safety and education. The findings imply that in spite of the efforts of lawmakers and well intentioned administrative entities, lack of adequate funding results in low or no resources for an environment where students in suspension /detention can be safely removed from the classroom, yet learn the curriculum they are by law entitled to. Findings also included that teachers have found game based learning to be an engaging tool for students, and some believe that a game based learning environment for children would only be conducive with appropriately trained professionals and guidance

I was so relieved after the presentation was over.
I was seriously walking on eggshells for several days prior to the day of the event.
The way things turned out however were actually quite surprising to even myself. I surprised myself with how effectively I seemed to come across in conveying the concept and process of the online SAVE room.
I did feel as though I was in the spotlight a bit. However it was necessary because this is exactly what is expected of us as e-learning creators. We will constantly be required to validate everything we research and implement.
With the exception of the elevator question, I think I did alright with the overall presentation.
Things I would have done to improve the presentation would have been to have a few notes prepared before hand. Perhaps this would have tied up my presentation, having to refer back and forth to notes on the one hand, but maybe on the other hand, not having any was evidence of my having acquired a solid understanding of the project and research.
